Developmental Milestones

Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye bye” are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move (crawling, walking, etc.)
THERE IS HELP IF YOU NEED IT

Is My Child Okay?

Children's skills and behaviours are rooted in their brain structures. More advanced skills can't develop until basic skills are well established. The early childhood development benchmarks provided here are intended to give parents general information to understand their child's physical, intellectual, social and language development. Every child will, quite naturally, have his or her own learning style, inclinations and pace of development. If your child is a little out of step with one or more of these benchmarks, it’s likely no cause for alarm. If you do have concerns, help is available.
